15 years ago next month, 15th July 2006, 3 members of the Scout Troop (recognise anyone?) hiked up Helvellyn on the Saturday evening to spend the night on the summit with the intention of observing sunrise over the Eastern Fells.
Starting from Wythburn Church in the evening sunshine the party went via Comb Crags and Birk Side to reach the summit at dusk.
After a night spent sleeping? in the summit shelter the group was fortunate in witnessing a magnificent sunrise above Ullswater.
